Acura calls the stylish coupe version as the Advanced Sportscar; generally speaking it is a replacement model to the much missed NSX sports car. Though the model is being replaced by the V-10 engine, the regulations from the F1 have forced the Acura teams to replace the V10 engine by a V8 model.

The rear wheel drive influenced all wheel drive architecture contradicts the need to build an all new front engine rear wheel drive platform. The sports version was debuted at the Detroit Auto Show.
